52. JOTA and 13. JOTI activities will take place during 17-18 October 2009 for 48 hours. You can participate to this activities on the province, club, group, unit and even patrol, team levels or personally. This year the main theme of the JOTA-JOTI activities is climate change. With discussions through wireless and internet, to raise the awareness of the participants abut the environment is aimed. Activities will start on Friday midnight and will last till Sunday midnight. The most available programs for the JOTA program are natural disasters, prepare for disasters of any kind, Alternate energy for your JOTA station, the carbon footprint. Fort his year, the priority is to form green JOTA stations. For the JOTI program participants should register to the website- www.environmentrace.org; complete at least 10 basic themes and fill in the registration form in the scout.org/joti web site. During the registration participants will be asked to represent the activities they made in the former website. After the forms and results are reached, an international certificate is sent to the person. Race fort he Environment is a cooperation program of WOSM with Swedish Scouts & Guides, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It aims to encourage young people to take action for the environment in their daily lives. The main idea is that small actions taken by many people have a big impact on the environment.
