We would kindly request you to look at the articles about the annual activity program in our instructions and remind the provincial representatives, club leaders and unit leaders.
• Provincial representatives should take into account article 11 about the activities and adjustments in the annual activity programme. (Article 11- (3) The provincial representative should send the form 71 by 10 January each year.
• Provincial representatives should take into account article 12 about the activities and adjustments in the annual activity programme. (Article 12-(3) The provincial representative should send the form 73 till the end of January each year.

The Camp of Victory in the 2009 Activity Program of the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey will take place in Afyonkarahisar State Park.

SUMMER CAMPING COURSE TOOK PLACE

The summer camping course in the 2009 Activity program of the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey that started on 5 July 2009 successfully took place in the Istanbul Umraniye scouting center.

The Summer Camping course that started on 5 July 2009 of the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey in the 2009 Activity Program of TIF is continuing in the Umraniye Scouting Center in Istanbul. There are 24 participants from different cities in the camp.

SUMMER CAMPING COURSE

The Summer Camping Course on 5-11 July 2009 of the Scouting and Guiding Federation will take place in Istanbul Umraniye Camping center instead of Kastamonu.

Grand father, I came! ÇANAKKALE 57. PARADE NATIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS CAMP WAS HELD.

The traditional Çanakkale National Consciousness Gathering this year has been realized with the capabilities of the Federation. More than 700 scouts and leaders participated. On this activity successfully held by the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey, Scouts and leaders from several cities came and felt the excitement of walking the same route of the 57.Parade and martyrs on this valuable holy territories.

ACCIDENT NEWS

Delegates of the General Assembly of the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey and group leaders of İBB Alibeyköy Halil YILDIZ and Aleaddin YURDAKUL got a traffic accident on 22 April on Wednesday while coming to Umraniye Camp center for the preparation of the Çanakkale National Camp.

ANNOUNCEMENT

It has been noticed that some scout and leaders who wish to participate to the National Camp in Canakkale do not meet the criteria of pariticpating to National Camp and some clubs do not have the necessary equipment for cooking.

ÇANAKKALE-CAMP OF NATIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS

The National Camp of Canakkale in the 2009 Activity Program of the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey will take place in Canakkale –Kabatepe on 22-26 April 2009.

OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE PRESIDENCY OF SCOUTING AND GUIDING FEDERATION TO AZARBAIJAN

The Presidency of the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey made an official visit to the friend and brother country-Azerbaijan.

SCOUTING AND GUIDING FEDERATION OF TURKEY MADE ITS MARK ON THE 6TH YOUTH FORUM ON YOUTH PROGRAMME AND ADULT RESOURCES

The 6th Forum on Youth Programme and Adult Resources organized by the WOSM European Region ended. The Turkish group definitely made its mark on the Forum that took place in the Camp advantura facilities in Obidos which is 50 minutes far from the capital of Portugal Lisbon.

REPORT OF THE TRAINING LEADERS’ SEMINAR OF THE SCOUTING AND GUIDING FEDERATION OF TURKEY

We congrulate all training leaders of the seminar who worked in a very busy and self-sacrificing working atmosphere. We publish the report including the conclusive remarks of the seminar.

SCOUTING AND GUIDING FEDERATION IS BEING REPRESENTED IN TWO COUNTRIES

Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey is being represented in two countries. While one Turkish group is attending the international seminar “In Quest of Intercultural Dialogu: Youh and Religion in Europe”, the other group is participating to the 6th Youth Forum on Youth Programme and Adult Resources in Portugal. Dialogue between Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey and Azaerbaijan Scout Association is taking place on level of presidency.

MILITARY PERSONEL THAT WILL SERVE DURING 2009

Military personnel who want to take service during the 2009 activities of the Federation should inform Okan ARSU the latest till 20 March.

ÇANAKKALE MARINE VICTORY NATONAL CAMP

The National Camp of 18 March Marine Victory will start on 18 March in the morning at 7.00 o’clock and end at 16.00 pm. Participants will meet on 18 march morning in our Kabatepe Scouting Facility. They will together go to the ceremonies and attend to the parade and after the ceremony they will return to the scouting facility in Kapatepe. Participants will meet all their costs by themselves and prepare and bring their foods by themselves. All participants should come with their full uniforms. Detailed information will be given on 18 March morning at 7.00 am in the Kabatepe Scouting Facility. There is no limit for the number of participants. Participants should meet the criteria of national camp participation.

AWARD FROM THE “BÜYÜK ANADOLU” NEWSPAPER TO THE FEDERATION

08.03.2009- In the Award ceremony organized on 8th March 2009, the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey has been deemed worthy to an award by the “Büyük Anadolu” Newspaper. The Award has been taken by our President Mr. Hasan Subasi to the name of the Federation.

TURKISH SCOUTS ELECTED THEIR CHIEF SCOUT. Hasan D. SUBASİ, HAS BEEN RE-ELECTED AS THE PRESIDENT OF THE SCOUTING AND GUIDING FEDERATION OF TURKEY

The second General Assembly Meeting of the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey took place in Ankara with the participation of delegates from several cities. The President of the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey has been re-elected as the President by taking 144 of the 157 valid votes. Among246 delegates, 159 of them made their registration to the General Assembly Meeting.

Correction of a Mistake: THEY ARE NOT STREET CHİLDREN, THEY ARE “SCOUTS”

The Winter Camp in Kutahya-Gediz with the colloboration of the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey and ISMEM ended. We have done a mistake in this camp which ended with great satisfaction of our scouts and camp staff. We supposed the participant children were street children. Nevertheless, we met a different youth group. Efforts of our brother with high motivation, ambition and harmony was worth to appreciation. We met several news in internet and we got worried. ISMEM Youths are our scout brothers and we will make many activities together. We apologize for the word we use.

CONDOLENCE

The uncle of the Karaman Provincial Representative Fatma Nilgun Kuscu and father of one of scout leaders- Umut Oruç in Istanbul, died. We condole the family and wish patience by heart.

PATROLS-GROUPS WINTER CAMP

The deadline for the application to the Patrols-groups Winter Camp is extended to 29 January 2009.

CONDOLENCE

25.01.2009 We condole all families and members of the Turkish Mountaineering Federation for the sportsmen who died in the avalanche that happened in Zigana. We wish that injured climbers will recover soon.

Girl Guiding UK The Centenary Camp

The pre-registration forms for the UK Girl Guiding Centenary Camp that will take place on 31 July-7 August 2010 should be sent the latest till 31 March 2009. Official registrations will start by the end of April. Applications should be sent to the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey.

SPAIN EUROPEAN YOUTH EXCHANGE PROJECT

There are two different European Youth Initiative Projects at different dates from Spain. The leaders who are interested with the project may get into contact with the Federation. Details about both of the projects are attached.

SKYING LEADERSHIP COURSE

Sykiing Leadership Course will take place on 25-30 January in Erzurum.

MUSIC AND GAMES LEADERSHIP COURSE

Music and Games Leadership course will take place on 29-31 January 2009 in Antalya.

12. INTERNATIONAL GIRL GUIDING CAMP

Dates of the 12. International Girl Guiding Cam pare changed as 5-11 August 2009. Applications should be sent to the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey by 15 January 2009. Otherwise, we will inform the host organization that there will be no participation on from Turkey.

TROOP LEADER COURSE

Troop Leader Course will take place on 24-29 January 2009 in Antalya.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING

The General Assembly of the Scouting and Guiding Federation will take place on 14 February 2009 Saturday in case the required majority is ensured. Otherwise it will take place on 15 February Sunday. You may follow the annoucements about “General Assembly” from the website.

The Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey has started to organize great activities in recent years.
Due to the greatness of these activities, there have been camps in which three articulated lorries were used.
Nevertheless, for the first time, the Turkish Scouts sent their camping materials by lorry to the camping area.
In the lorry loaded in the Umraniye Facility of the Federation, all materials and bags of scouts that will be used in the Jamboree have been put. Turkey, for the first time, goes to such an organization that much prepared.
There are also many gifts and souvenirs that will be presented in Jamboree and also materials that will be used in the World Villages stations.
Many wireless phones have been also sent to London for the communication of Jamboree teams. Flag staffs, flags have been put to the lorry in order to be used within the camping area.
All of our scouts will stay in the same model and color tents and will use same model matte.
All necessary mattes and tents are also in the lorry. The lorry which is loaded by the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey for the Jamboree in London left on 17 July 2007 at .6.30 pm from the TIF Office in Istanbul with a big ceremony.
About 100o scouts who were in one of our camps in the same area, attended to the ceremony.

To celebrate the centenary of Scouting, our Federation will organize the "Centenary Camp" which is in its Activity Agenda on 27 July- 2 August in Istanbul-Umraniye Kent Ormanları Scouting Facility.

• The ones who will participate to the Camp will bring their full uniform, sleeping bag and personel camp materials with themselves.
• The Participants will act in accordance with the " Camp Instructions" and participations will be in the form of tribe, tent tor team and guide leaders will be able to apply for guides and scout leaders for scouts.
• Applications will be available in the TIFOTOMATION system.
• The fares of the participants will be paid by their clubs as much as it is possible or by themselves; during the camp fare returns will be realized by our federation.

NAVAL NATIONAL SCOUTING CAMP STARTED

22 June 2007

175 scouts are participating to the camp in Izmir-Çeşme in the Paşalimanı Facility of the General Directorate of Youth and Sport.

Many practicaland theoric trainings are given in the camp such as surfing, scuba, swimming, simafır, model Boat ,Culture of Navigation, Basic cruising, Basic sailing, Turkish Navigation History, Navigation knots, Security principles in Sailing and Ataturk and Sea.

On 5-8 July 2007 Basic Leadership Training Course will be opened in Kayseri.

SCOUTING CENTENARY STAMPS PUBLIHED

With the approval and permission of the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey Centenary Stamps have been published by PTT. Stamps that are got as a result of a common works are presented to the service of our citizens and scouts. On 09.05.2007, Centenary stamps, with 60 and 70 New Turkish Lira valued souvenir stamps and first day envelops of these stamps have been put for purchase to the value of 1.55 NTL. These so called stamps are being sold in General Directorates of PTT.
